A note to readers

Until a couple of years ago, I worked at a movie theater on Saturdays and saw most of the widely released movies for free before my shift. So I got my fill of bad movies that I wouldn’t otherwise have watched. Since then, a lot of the movies I see are at advance screenings to which I’m invited by the Philadelphia Film Society. Otherwise, I see what I want to see, so the reviews from the last couple of years have higher average ratings and tend toward less mainstream fare.

All reviews are out of a possible ****. Reviews have been back dated to the Philadelphia opening date of the movie. (If the movie was only shown at a special screening or film festival, I use the date I saw it.)
